PEKIN ~ Delbert W. Estes, 82, of Pekin, passed away at 7:06 p.m. Thursday, August 10, 2017 at UnityPoint Health - Methodist in Peoria.

Born June 24, 1935 in Manito to Andrew Lee and Edna Mae (Martin) Estes, he married Mary Louise Hasty on November 15, 1952 in Fort Madison, Iowa.  She passed away March 25, 2007 in Pekin.  He also was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; five sisters; and a special friend, Donna Autrey.

Surviving are two daughters, Debbie (Mike Morris) Estes of Manito and Leanna (Mike) Estes-Kistler of South Pekin; six grandchildren Jeremiah (Tisha Daniels) Harms of Pekin, Jason (Crystal) Harms of South Pekin, Melissa Harms of Pekin, Tasha (Blaine) D’Acci of Lakewood, Colorado, Keshia Estes of Pekin and Candice (Travis) McGinnis; thirteen great-grandchildren; special nephew, John (Sondra) Estes of Pekin; and a special friend, Marilyn Beever.

He had attended First Missionary Church in North Pekin.

Delbert had worked for R.A. Cullinan as a truck driver for 36 years, retiring in 1997.

He was a member of the Eagles Aerie #1869 in Pekin.  Delbert loved working in his yard, especially in his garden.  He also liked working on cars and watching Western movies.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.

His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  The Rev. Tony Darr will officiate.  Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.  Entombment will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Pekin.
